CHSOS launches today its crowdfunding campaign to realize an open source and low-cost multispectral system that anybody will be able to replicate. Conservators are invited to participate and be part of this effort.
We want to develop a simple, affordable but effective multispectral system which will be designed specifically for the needs of professionals in the art conservation field.
CHSOS has a mission: to develop and promote innovative, affordable and sustainable scientific and technical tools for the examination and documentation of works of art and archaeology. CHSOS disseminates information in blog format, through training programs, and by peer-reviewed publications on useful and affordable methods, such as Technical Photography with infrared enabled digital cameras, Panoramic Infrared Reflectography, and Reflectance spectroscopy with miniaturized spectrometers.
CHSOS has been evaluating third-party equipment for the specific needs of conservators and art professionals, and now we also want to develop our own solutions tailored to the specific needs of the art conservation field.
CHSOS needs your support! We don’t receive funds from governments or institutions.
We want to launch the first crowdfunded project for the development of a scientific tool designed specifically for the workflow of art conservators!
