Training Program: Iron Gall Ink
3-days, hands-on training program, where we focus on the scientific examination of iron gall ink using both imaging and spectroscopy techniques. Each day will consist of six hours of in-depth, practical learning, where participants will not only gain theoretical knowledge but also actively engage in real-time analysis. This course is highly practical, giving you the opportunity to work directly with the advanced equipment of the CHSOS lab.
Throughout the course, you will practice various scientific methods on iron gall ink, exploring its composition, chemical properties, and unique characteristics. We will also cover the differences between iron gall ink and other inks, as well as teach you how to distinguish between different recipes through hands-on examination. By the end of this program, you will be well-equipped to carry out scientific analysis of iron gall ink, using state-of-the-art imaging and spectroscopy tools.
