Our Instruments for Art Examination

At CHS Open Source we use advanced, state-of-the-art scientific instruments to support precise cultural heritage analysis. Our suite includes high-resolution imaging systems, multispectral system, portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) analyzers, reflectance transformation imaging (RTI), and portable microscopes, all selected for their reliability and accuracy in the field and in the lab. These tools allow us to characterize materials, identify pigments, reveal underdrawings and hidden layers, and document minute surface details. By combining robust instrumentation with expert interpretation, we deliver scientifically grounded insights into artworks and artifacts while honoring their integrity and context.
