Siobhan is a well-established Fine art conservator-restorer at her own studio (Siobhan Conyngham Fine Art Conservation) in Monaghan, Ireland. She studied at University College London and she wants to enhance her art documentation and examination services implementing on her own practice the scientific methods disseminated by CHSOS!
We are planning a 3 days training and we are going to spend the third day doing on-site art documentation in Savoca, our new field project. This is an amazing and pittoresque medieval village in Sicily, one hour driving form the CHSOS studio. Savoca was founded in 1134 by Roger II, king of the Normans, and it was a barony ruled by the archimandrite in Messina. By the way, the town, was the location for scenes of Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather. CHSOS is involved in the documentation and study of the mural paintings in the Church of San Michele (14th century).
