Just published “Panoramic Multispectral Imaging: Training and Case studies” on the Belgian Association of conservators Bulletin, 2nd Trimester, pp 7-11, 2014. David Laine, the Bulletin vice-president and painting conservator at Iparc cvba, told me that they were preparing an interesting issue on different kinds of analyses in conservation. This encouraged me to submit a paper regarding a training program on multispectral imaging and technical photography (topics and program available here) that I had just delivered to an Art Diagnostics start-up company in Italy, Terrarossa. I wrote this paper in collaboration with Cristina, Grazia and Floriana, the young conservation scientists which run Terrarossa and who took that training program in Andria, Italy. They made a great effort in selecting and preparing amazing case studies in their home town, Andria.
The 5 –days of training and actual examinations were so productive that we thought it was worth to write a paper on the imaging documentation workflow and the actual discoveries we made. This video summarize the training program in Andria.
